NEW: State Department Proposes Removal of B-1 in Lieu of H-1B Visa

The US State Department proposed a revision of the regulations that would eliminate the B-1 in Lieu of H-1B (commonly known as a BILOH) visa.

B-1 in Lieu of H-1B visas have been a popular visa option that allow B-1 visitors to enter the US to perform H-1B services for a limited time while remaining on their foreign payroll. B-1 in Lieu of H-1B visa are a popular option for employees needed to complete short-term, highly skilled projects in the United States.

The State Department will be accepting comments on this proposed change for the next 60 days. If approved, the new regulation would not take effect for several months.
